That one question is where Cafetein began. Not a market gap. Not a trend. A son, trying to get his mother to eat enough protein — and a mother who said no, because she didn't trust what was inside the tub.

My mother needed more protein in her day. Like most people, I did what seemed obvious — I brought home a protein powder.
She wouldn't touch it. Not because she didn't need it, but because she didn't trust what was inside. Too many ingredients she couldn't pronounce, made by companies she'd never heard of, in facilities she'd never seen.
I could have gone looking for a "cleaner" brand instead. But the more I looked into how most protein powders are actually made — sourced from one place, blended by a contract manufacturer, labelled by whoever pays for the batch — the less I trusted the whole system myself.
So instead of outsourcing the responsibility, we chose to build it ourselves. Our own formulation. Our own in-house manufacturing. Nothing we wouldn't hand to our own family.

We wanted nutrition to feel like something you look forward to, the way you look forward to your favourite coffee order, not something you choke down out of obligation. And the name is also a promise about where we're headed: Cafetein is meant to become a destination, not just a tub on a shelf.
